Cholecystitis Diet

The swelling and inflammation of the gallbladder is known as Cholecystitis. This inflammation and swelling of the gallbladder can be acute and chronic.  There is an unbearable and acute pain in some cases. The problem happens more to women than in men.

The swelling or inflammation of the gallbladder is because the flow of the bible is blocked into the intestine. Cholecystitis happens due to the blockage of the cystic duct, the duct of the gallbladder. Bile builds up in the gallbladder causing upper abdominal pain.

According to the cholecystitis diet plan, it is very important that you must avoid the fried foods and meat that are high in fat. The main focus is that you should avoid eating any kind of fat because by doing this you will reduce many symptoms associated with cholecystitis. The food that you must avoid from your diet are red meat like lamb, pork, and duck. You can eat lean and skinless meat if necessary.  You must also avoid eggs, nuts, fried food, chocolates, ice creams, black tea, coffee and carbonated drinks.  Besides, there are also some vegetables that should be avoided like cabbage and cauliflower.  A good diet that steers clear of the above triggers help prevent forming of gallstones.

We have already discussed what food to avoid from your diet. And now we will discuss the food that should be included in your diet plan. The foods that you should consume in your cholecystitis diet plan are hemp, black seed oil, olive oil, vinegar, blackberries. There are many nutritious foods that you can take like whole grain foods, milk that is low in fat, yogurt, rice, potatoes, pasta. Include more fiber food in your diet. This food can also be taken after surgery.

Another important thing that you should keep in mind that you have to avoid drinking alcohol. This can cause pain and swelling and make your condition worse. The consumption of alcohol can increase the gallstone.

Do not go on a crash diet as this can be the main cause for your cholecystitis problem. You should focus on consuming high fibrous food in your diet plan. The food that is high in fiber helps you to digest your food very easily. It keeps your digestive system healthy. The food that is high in fiber is whole grain wheat, brown rice, legumes. You can also include some nutritious fruit and vegetables in your diet plan.

Eat in small quantities.  This will helpful for your bladder as it will not overload your bladder. And you should never skip any of your daily meals. Breakfast is considered to be the first and important meal of the day and you should never skip that because if you do so, then it can have a negative effect on your gallbladder. Concentrate more on vegetarian food; eat a wide variety of fruits and vegetables that are good for gallbladder.

Here we are now discussing a simple and easy cholecystitis plan.

Breakfast– This is the most important meal of your entire day, you should never skip breakfast. In your breakfast, you can take some fruits with some oats, which is high in fiber. Or you can have an egg white omelet with lots of vegetables to make it more nutritious and with very little oil in it.

Mid-Day Snack– In your mid-day snacks have some yogurt that is fat-free with some fruits in it like berries. And if you don’t like to have yogurt then you can drink some low-fat milk.

Lunch- For your lunch, consume whole grain food like a fat-free tortilla with low-fat mayonnaise or low fat cream cheese with lots of vegetables. And if you prefer meat in your tortilla, then you have very lean and skinless meat. You can also include some fresh green salads. Avoid using dressing with oil and lots of spices. Have an apple and drink mineral water with some lemon juice in it.

Afternoon Snack– You can always have some fruits or have popcorn with no fat like butter. You can sprinkle some sea salt in your popcorn, but avoid using microwave popcorn.  You can consume some ice tea in your afternoon snack.

Dinner– For your dinner, have whole grain pasta with lots of high fiber vegetables in it. Avoid vegetables like cauliflower and cabbage in your pasta. You can give treats for yourself with fat-free ice cream.

This diet plan is very easy to follow and will surely help your cause. Just concentrate on high fiber food and avoid alcohol, fried food and red meat. You can take help of your doctor before starting any cholecystitis diet.
